Improvement of ReFRESCO Sliding Grid Functionality

Summary:

Based on the team’s experience in using and developing the Sliding Grids module in the CFD code ReFRESCO, several components were improved, aiming at increasing the accuracy at the sliding interface: new Halo cell projection method, introduction of grid quality corrections at the interface, and further approximations to internal-like cell treatment at the interface.

Result:

Improved accuracy of Sliding Grids, especially when very different grid refinements are used across the interface. Development of a new set of Verification & Validation suites to test the accuracy of the new SG implementation.
