6-DoF CFD of moored Floating Offshore Wind Turbine Platform (FOWT), coupling a CFD solver (ReFRESCO) with a non-linear finite-element mooring code (MOORING3D), to determine mooring line loads in extreme seas.

Result:

Simulations allowed to calibrate lower order models and validate mooring line maximum loads in extreme events for a 6MW floating offshore wind turbine.
