blueOASIS is a young and growing company focusing on developing sustainable solutions for the blue economy. blueOASIS is working on three scopes: numerical analysis for offshore renewable energies, acoustic modelling, monitoring and analysis and digital twining. The Renewables & Maritime team is looking for a new engineer focused on numerical modelling of offshore structures.
Role description:
- Analysis of offshore structures and/or moorings using numerical modelling tools, e.g. floating offshore wind turbines, aquaculture systems, offshore vessels
- Analysis of ship hydrodynamics and performance, e.g. resistance, propulsion, seakeeping
Expertise needed:
- Msc or PhD in relevant engineering background (mechanical, aerospace, naval architecture)
- Relevant background to the role description
- Good knowledge of Orcawave/OrcaFlex or similar
- Skilled in python (script development)
- English at working level
Added value:
- Experience with OrcFxAPI
- Experience with offshore wind simulation tools (QBlade, OpenFAST, etc)
- Affinity with HPC, Linux, Github
- Interest in CFD for maritime/offshore applications
- Interest in Underwater Acoustics, AI, or Digital Twinning
General Conditions:
- Work mostly at Ericeira main office with possibility of Azores (Faial/Terceira).
- 4 days minimum per week in the office.
- 40h week
- 1 year contract with trial period
- 23 days of vacation, plus Christmas week
- Salary range depending on experience (1750€ to 3000€ gross per month, 14 salaries per year), plus the following: food allowance 211€ net per month (11x months per year); private health insurance; public transportation pass for Lisbon area (Navegante Metropolitano).
